REF 9276  Victorian Alumium Brooch

A brooch, circa 1860, in the rare medium of aluminium, mounted on gilt metal. For some time after its discovery in 1827, aluminium was more expensive than gold and used by jewellers as a rare novelty component. This brooch features textured domes of aluminium and is immaculate.
