Ref  GBB2    Berlin Iron Ring

A hard to find Berlin iron signet ring, an example of patriotic jewellery, circa 1825 - 1835. The inner band is gold and the outer band is iron, decorated with floral and foliate motifs and a steel signet plate inscribed with the initial M. The ring is size W and 1/2 [US 11 and 3/8] and cannot be sized. The band width tapers from 1/2 at inch at the front to 1/4 of an inch at the back.
