Ref  OL2   Victorian Souvenir Bracelet

Ingenious high carat gold bracelet in the form of a book, circa 1840. The chased and engraved book cover is set with turquoise, symbolic of forget-me-not, and the pages unfold to reveal the word souvenir, for souvenir d'amitie [token of love]. The letters are decoratively engraved and set in pierced gold settings. The bracelet is a weighty 46.1 grams, [there are 31.1 grams to one troy ounce of gold]. It is in 7 inches in length and 1 inch wide. Extremely fine gold work, and in immaculate condition.
