19th century harlequin gem pansy

Luscious gem pansy pendant / brooch, circa 1840. It is 18 carat gold and set with a central natural pearl surrounded by a harlequin array of gems – aquamarine, pink topaz, yellow sapphires, a garnet and diamond sparks. The gems are substantial and chunky – the aquamarine measures 4 carats, the pink topaz is 4.3 carats, the garnet is 5.5 carats and the two yellow sapphires measure 8.60 carats and 4.30 carats respectively. The pansy measures 1 and 1/3 inches by 1 and 1/3 inches and is very fine quality and immaculate.
