Ref  TS2  Queen of Portugal

A sumtpuous Portuguese ring, circa 1780, containing a watercolour portrait minaiture of a female traditionally know as the Queen of Portugal. The sitter is portrayed with ribbons and feathers in her hair wearing a frock embellished with roses, under crystal. The portrait is within a surround of vibrant sea-green chrysoberyl in foiled and closed back settings within a gold bead detail typical of Portuguese work of the era. The high carat gold trifurcated ring shank is original. The ring is size O [US 7] and the head of the ring measures 1.5 inches by 1 and 1/4 inches. So rare, I have only had one example before and of extremely fine quality.
