Chased locket ring

A high carat gold heavily chased locket ring, circa 1820. It is decorated fully round with plump cabbage roses, the cabbage rose being the ambassador of love. There is an opening locket compartment on the front of the ring. It is later inscribed to reverse : Js Obt 17 June 1846. The ring is size L and 1/2 [US 5 and 7/8], substantial and immaculate.
