Coiled serpent

Large and plump 15 carat gold coiled serpent brooch, circa 1860. The serpent has ruby eyes, a turquoise set head and bears an opening heart locket in its mouth. The brooch measures 2 inches by 2 inches. In antique case and immaculate.
