Fichu pins from Georgian Jewellery
A delightful little collection of Georgian fichu or lace pins, circa 1820. Designed to be worn on a fichu, a gauzy shawl tucked into the bodice for modesty, or on a ribbon in the hair, these pins were popular as Georgian daywear. These are all gold and close-backed set with Imperial topaz, pink topaz, amethyst and natural pearls. They are all illustrated on page 32 of the publication Georgian Jewellery. All are in their original brooch form and my jeweller can easily adapt the pins to be worn as pendants without compromising their originality. They are as follows :
- Amethyst and natural pearl fichu measuring 3/4 of an inch by 3/4 of an inch £750
- Imperial topaz and natural pearl padlock shaped fichu measuring 3/4 of an inch by 2/3 of an inch sold
- Comet shaped pink topaz and natural pearl fichu measuring 3/4 of an inch by 1/2 an inch sold
- Plump little Imperial topaz and natural pearl fichu measuring 2/3 of an inch by 1/2 an inch £750.
All are immaculate.
