Lapponia gold cufflinks

Björn Weckström “Pirunpyörät” cufflinks

A pair of stylish and futuristic Pirunpyörät [ferris wheel] 14 carat gold cufflinks designed by Björn Weckström for Lapponia, circa 1970. Björn Weckström is the internationally best-known Finnish jewellery designer. Together with Pekka Anttila, founder of Lapponia, he developed the brand’s sculptural design language. His jewellery designs were inspired by the rugged landscape of the  Finnish Lapland. The uneven soft glow of matte gold made his jewels look like miniature sculptures created by nature itself. The top disc of the cufflinks measure 3/4 of an inch by 3/4 of an inch and they weigh 17.8 grams in total. Immaculate condition.
