Portuguese chrysoberyl

Portuguese chrysoberyl ring

An imposing Portuguese chrysoberyl ring circa 1780, converted from a brooch to a ring in the 19th century. The high carat gold fluted shank supports a marquise head set with vibrant and perfectly colour matched sea-green chrysoberyl in foiled, closed back settings. Typical Portuguese gold bead detail to the surround. The ring is size O [US 7] and the head of the ring measures 1 and 3/4 inches by 1 and 1/3 inches. Gloriously vibrant colour, immaculate.
