A high carat gold Roman ring, circa 3rd century A.D. depicting Eros, the primordial god of love and desire. His Roman counterpart was Cupid. He was perceived to rule the gods as well as mortals. Here he is depicted as a chubby infant. The ring is size I [US 4 and 1/4] and the Erote head measures 1/3 of an inch by 1/3 of an inch. It is in completely original, fine and wearable condition.
