Well I haven’t seen one of these before and I don’t say that very often. An 18 carat gold pendant, circa 1900, containing a reverse carved intaglio crystal of a Vespa. Reverse crystal carvings were created from a rock crystal cabochon on which an image was carved and painted to give the impression of a three dimensional object encapsulated in the cabochon when viewed from above. The effect achieved is photo realistic. The pendant measures 3/4 of an inch by 3/4 of an inch and is well executed and immaculate.
