18th century dove of peace

A French 18th century Saint Esprit pendant, circa 1780. The pendant takes the form of a dove, symbolising peace. It is 18 carat gold with polychrome enamelling and set with foiled garnets which have a magical pinkish gold hue known as ‘oil and vinegar’ and colourful paste. The piece comes with provenance. It comes from the private collection of the late Ginny Dawes, author of the publication Georgian Jewellery. The dove measures 2 inches by 3/4 of an inch and is fine quality and immaculate. We could all do with a little peace right now.
