19th century 18 carat guard chain

Fine quality 18 carat yellow gold long guard chain, circa 1840. It is a continuous strand of rope twist links. The chain is 60 inches long and weighs a hefty 41.1 grams. It can be worn as a single chain, doubled, or tripled. Substantial and immaculate.
