Georgian garnet rivière
A quintessential Georgian rivière, circa 1800. Rivière literally translates as ‘river’, a seamless line of gems encircling the neck. This example is 15 carat gold and set with almandine garnets over cerise foil in cut-down, closed back settings. The riviére is slightly graduated and has an integral garnet clasp. It is 16.5 inches long and immaculate. The riviére is in an antique box with a little card inscribed : To Amy, with lots of love and wishes for the future, Auntie Eva.
