Beauty, fidelity and protection

A carved coral charm group, circa 1840 depicting a bacchante, a dog and a figa. The bacchante symbolised beauty, the dog fidelity and the figa offered protection from the evil eye. The charms are set gold and on a gold split ring. The figa is 1 and 1/8 inches long, the dog is 3/4 of an inch long and the bacchante is 1/2 an inch long. All are immaculate.
