Cherubim

A Swiss 18 carat gold brooch circa 1890, set with a delightful enamel plaque of cherubim in flight. The plaque is within a surround of natural pearls. Maker’s mark to reverse IGRC for Remond, Lamy, Mercier and Co. of Geneva, who were renowned for their superior enamel work. Their products were works of fine jewellery and deservedly adorn signifiant state and private collections. The brooch measures 1 and 3/4 by 1 and 1/8 inches and is extremely fine and pristine.
