Forget-me-not
Pretty diamond flower ring, circa 1840. It is 18 carat gold and set with a royal blue enamel plaque surmounted by a forget-me-not flower executed in very bright old-cut diamonds. In Victorian Floriography (also known as ‘The Language and Sentiment of Flowers’), forget-me-nots conveyed the hidden message: “You are not forgotten” and were given to secretly express enduring love and fidelity. The ring is size N [US 6 and 1/2] and can be sized and the head of the ring measures 2/3 of an inch by 1/2 an inch. Very fine quality, substantial and immaculate.
