Portuguese chrysoberyl ring

An imposing Portuguese chrysoberyl plaque ring, circa 1780. The high carat gold trifurcated shank supports a head with a chrysoberyl floral motif, within a surround of chrysoberyl, all gems foil backed and set silver. The ring has gold bead detail typical of Portuguese work from this period. The ring is size M and 1/2 [US 6 and 1/4] and the head of the ring measures 1 and 1/8 inches by 3/4 of an inch. Fine quality and immaculate.
