Pensée

A Georgian 18 carat gold ring in the form of a pansy, circa 1820. The pansy form romantically symbolised pensée – think of the giver. The ring is set with a central diamond surrounded by amethyst, citrine and topaz, with cannetille worked shoulders. To reverse initials MD and the number 19, no doubt symbolising a gift. The ring is size N [US 6 and 1/2] and the head of the ring measures 1/2 an inch by 1/2 an inch. Charming and immaculate.
