A substantial and imposing paste riviere, circa 1840. Rivière literally translates as a ‘river’, a seamless line of gems encircling the neck. This graduated riviere is silver with a gold wash reverse and set with bright colourless paste in foiled and closed back settings. It is 15 and 1/2 inches long. The largest paste front centre measures 1/2 an inch by 1/2 an inch and the smallest next to the clasp measure 1/8 of an inch by 1/8 0f an inch. It sits well on the neck, is in a fitted case, sparkling and immaculate.
