Queen Anne choker

Queen Anne choker

A ‘Queen Anne’ choker, circa 1760. Queen Anne died in 1714 but in the jewellery trade this style of jewel is always referred to as ‘Queen Anne’. Queen Anne pieces are generally unknown before 1740. This choker necklace is silver and set with domes of duck-egg blue enamel in cut-down settings interspersed with pyrites bows. The front is perfect and there are dents in the silver reverse but I can’t do anything about that. It is 7.5 inches long and designed to be worn on ribbon so it will fit a neck of any size.
