A fine quality and unusually large Victorian shooting star, circa 1880, which can be worn as a brooch, pendant or hair ornament.. Shooting stars were considered to be good luck omens. It is 18 carat gold and silver and set with approximately three carats of old-cut and rose-cut diamonds. The star is 2 and 3/4 inches long and 2/3 of an inch wide at its widest point. Bold, bright, immaculate.
