Souvenir

A testament to the skill and ingenuity of the 19th century goldsmith, a high carat gold bracelet in the form of a book, circa 1860. The book’s binding is decorated with royal blue enamel and set with natural pearls. The pages unfold to reveal the word ‘souvenir’, for souvenir d’amitié [token of love]. The letters are decoratively engraved and pierced in the style of a Gothic manuscript. The bracelet is a substantial 45 grams, [there are 31.1 grams to one Troy ounce of gold]. It is in 7 inches in length and 1 inch wide. In its original fitted case and immaculate.
