Turquoise floral spray

A large and full turquoise floral spray brooch, circa 1880. It is silver gilt and densely pavé-set with vibrant Persian turquoise and natural pearls. Nishapur turquoise, mined in Persia, was favoured by British jewellers in the 19th century due to its clean, uniform sky-blue hue and exceptional purity. The brooch measures 3 and 3/4 inches by 3 inches and is beautifully constructed and immaculate.
